JAN WHEATLEY

Jan was born in Logan, Utah, and grew up in Newport Beach, California, where he studied political science and design. His travel career began in 1975, escorting groups for the National Retired Teachers Association of America.

Jan's career advanced as he became associated with People to People, leading political delegations around the world. Expanding his travel options, in 1982 Jan moved and opened up a clothing design studio in Bali, Indonesia.

To date, Jan has lead journeys to over 100 countries including one of the first groups to China after President Nixon's historic visit. His enthusiasm for travel is contagious, spending over half his life tour directing and sharing the world with avid travelers. Jan is currently living on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii and exotic Thailand, "the land of smiles," on the Gulf of Siam.

In his own words...
Travel is my passion as many of you know, and has been my loved profession for 30 years. Asia, Africa (safaris) and the South Pacific are my favorite destinations, however I still jump at the opportunity to travel almost anywhere. I have been truly blessed with the unique, and wonderful opportunity of making friends world wide and sharing the most exciting and remote destinations on earth with TRAVCOA clients. The single most rewarding aspect of being a Travel Director is knowing that you have helped people realize their lifetime travel dreams, and that you have played a major role in their adventure. Thank you, traveling friends, for adding so much to my life. I look forward to seeing you on an exciting TRAVCOA journey in the very near future.
