DAYS 1 – 3Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Our journey begins in Rio de Janeiro on Day 2 with an ascent to the top of Corcovado for a breathtaking view of the cidade maravilhosa. We’ll see Tijuca National Park — the largest urban forest in the world — then stroll the famed beaches of Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana. Dance the night away at a lively samba show and sample some of the best barbecue at a typical Brazilian churrascaria.

DAYS 4 & 5Iguaçu Falls, Brazil & Argentina Fly to Foz do Iguaçu (Iguaçu Falls) on Day 4, where your expert guide will lead you through catwalks and trails, to discover a lush rainforest alive with bamboo, orchids, parrots and spectacular vantages. Later we’ll take a breathtaking helicopter ride to view the falls’ cascades as they thunder down over 200 feet.
On Day 5 travel to the Argentina side of the falls and board a train to view the highlight of Iguaçu Falls, the “Devil’s Throat.” Next travel to the Brazilian-Paraguayan border for a guided tour of Italpu Dam.

DAYS 6 – 8Buenos Aires, Argentina Welcome to “the Paris of South America” with its art galleries, chic boutiques, lush green parks and tree-lined boulevards. Visit San Telmo, the birthplace of the tango, and discover its famous Sunday flea market. See the famous Recoleta Cemetery, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Casa Rosada and Plaza de Mayo. Enjoy a privately guided visit to the Colon Theatre. Learn the fine art of Argentine dance at the respected Tango Academy, then enjoy a memorable dinner and tango show.

DAYS 9 & 10Bariloche After the big-city buzz of Buenos Aires, we fly to Bariloche where a dramatic counterpoint of serenity awaits. Located in the Andean foothills, Bariloche offers numerous outdoor activities and the chance to indulge in the town’s artisanal chocolate. Our journey takes us on a scenic drive through the rugged Patagonian landscape on the Road of the Seven Lakes.

DAY 11Puerto Varas & Puerto Montt, Chile Driving through exquisite scenery, you’ll view the commanding Osorno Volcano before arriving at Puerto Varas.

DAYS 12 – 15Santiago & Depart for Home From Puerto Montt, we fly to Santiago. Relax with a Pisco Sour on San Cristobal Hill, which offers a panoramic view of the city spreading out toward the distant Andes. From La Moneda Palace to Cathedral Metropolitana, discover the beauty and nuances of Santiago. We’ll journey to one of Chile’s renowned traditional wineries, the Santa Rita Winery, where we learn about the winemaking process and explore the winery’s unique pre-Columbian art collection. Tour the Los Domenicos Craft Center before being taken to the airport on the evening of Day 14 for your flight back home (arriving the following day) or on to your next destination.
