DAYS 1 – 4

Upon arrival you will be escorted to your luxury hotel. On Day 2, fly to Meru and transfer to the elegant Elsa’s Kopje safari camp, named for the main character in Joy Adamson’s novel Born Free: A Lioness of Two Worlds. Enjoy three days of game drives, bush walks, and excursions along the Tana River tracking rhinos, elephants, zebras and leopards. You will also visit the Adamson Camp and local native villages. DAYS 5 – 7

On Day 5, fly to Samburu and drive to the Kalama Wildlife Conservancy. Enjoy extraordinary views over the rangelands and the mountains of Samburuland all the way to Mount Kenya. Venture on day and night game drives into the Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves, and view painted and carved rock art of the semi-nomadic Samburu people. (3B, 3L, 3D)

DAYS 8 – 10

Take a morning flight to the Masai Mara and transfer to your luxury lodge set in a remote valley, on Day 8. The Masai Mara boasts 650 square miles of unspoiled, golden grasslands studded with acacia trees, rivers and forests. Enjoy 4x4 and walking safaris through this region rich in the Big Five, wildebeests, gazelles and more than 300 species of birds. You also have the opportunity to visit Maasai villages to learn about their culture and to meet some Maasai warriors. (3B, 3L, 3D)

DAY 11

Enjoy one last morning game drive before flying to Nairobi. This afternoon, tour the Giraffe Centre – also known as the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife – a conservancy, breeding, and educational center which began by rescuing endangered Rothschild giraffes. Finally, visit the renowned David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s elephant orphanage to watch baby elephants and rhinos feeding, bathing and playing. This evening you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home or on to your next destination. (B, L, D)
