DAYS 1 – 4Johannesburg, South Africa Arrive in Johannesburg on Day 2 and discover its fascinating historical heritage. Get to know the city’s landmarks, take a guided tour of the Soweto Township and visit a resident’s home, and visit the Apartheid Museum. Then venture out of town for an exploration of South Africa’s capital, Pretoria, and a special visit to the Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre. DAYS 7 – 9The Blue Train, Pretoria & Johannesburg Aboard the legendary Blue Train, glide in luxury through fertile wine lands and then turn inland to the sweeping landscapes of the Great Karoo, one of the world’s most unique arid zones. In the tiny hamlet of Matjiesfontein, we’ll enjoy a unique sightseeing ride aboard a London double-decker bus. In Pretoria, we get acquainted with De Wildt Research Center where endangered species like the king cheetah and African wild dogs are bred. In Johannesburg, visit Soweto Township and learn about its historical background, and the Apartheid Museum dedicated to apartheid and the 20th-century history of South Africa. DAYS 10 – 12Londolozi Private Game Reserve Fly to a wilderness lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Your photographic safaris are conducted in open four-wheel drive vehicles, which allow for total freedom of movement. You may spot lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffaloes, as well as cheetahs, giraffes and zebras. Shangaan trackers and trained rangers provide instinctive bush knowledge and formal expertise.
