DAYS 1 & 2Jerusalem, Masada & Qumran Ascend the steep desert fortress of Masada by cable car, and enjoy a spectacular view of this rock fortification that was the last bastion of the Jewish zealots in their war with the Romans in 73 A.D. Then continue on to Qumran to see where the Dead Sea Scrolls were uncovered. The King David Hotel
DAY 3Bethlehem Drive to Bethlehem where you will see the Church of the Nativity, Manger Square and the Shepherd’s Field. Then visit the Israeli Parliament, the Holocaust Museum and the Strait of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited. The King David Hotel
DAY 4Jerusalem Today visit many of Jerusalem’s most well-known historical sites including the Church of the Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Mount of Olives. Then visit the Dome of the Rock, a place of pilgrimage for Muslims, designed by Byzantine architects and covered with spectacular mosaics. The Western Wall (or Wailing Wall) is the last remaining structure of the Jewish temple where the devout come to pray.
In the afternoon, visit the Tomb of King David, the room where the Last Supper was held, and the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, on the eastern slopes of Mount Zion. Beneath the church there are carved-out chambers that date back to the Second Temple Period, and according to tradition, Jesus was imprisoned there while in Caiphas’ custody. The King David Hotel
DAY 5Jerusalem Transfer to the airport. Your journey ends with breakfast.
